THIS WEEKS PLAYLIST - AUGUST 2016

I don't know if its the summer time, or the fact that Frank Ocean just emerged from the dead, but I've come across some golden music and artists recently. And I don't know about y'all, but I don't even listen to the radio anymore, all they play is trashhhhh. Anyway, read on.

1. Pink + White by Frank Ocean, I don't even know where to start! The whole album is amazing, and was totally worth the wait and I almost cried actual tears when I heard the album, because it. was. that. good. Pink + White is just one of my favorites (the whole album is my favorite but whatever), so If you don't wanna listen to the whole album, atleast listen to that one, its beautiful.

2. Dang! by Mac Miller feat. Anderson Paak, I definitely didn't listen to Mac Miller before this song, cuz.. ew, but now I respect him a lot more as an artist. The song is really soulful and groovy for a white boy from Pittsburg, lol. I think Anderson Paak contributes a lot of smoothness to the song, that otherwise wouldn't be there. I love it, love it. It's also really versatile, I listen to it while doing work or dancing around the crib.

3. Spectrum by Goldlink, I didn't even know who Goldlink was until I watched his 2015 XXL freestyle, and oh my gosh, he's great. He almost reminds me a little bit of Kid Cudi, not because they have similar sounds, but just because both of their sounds are unique, and they both kind've "singrap", if you know what I mean. Spectrum, in particular, is one of the dopest songs I've heard in a long time (In addition to the other songs on this playlist of course), and It's so refreshing to hear some cool and different rap, omg, I'm so tired of future and like everyone else (aka Dj Khaled, who btw has his own commerical for Soy Milk and It's the funniest thing ever like why do they have Dj Khaled talking about soy milk?? We all know he doesn't drink that stuff mannn).

4. Hive by Earl Sweatshirt feat. Vince Staples, I've always loved Earl Sweatshirt, and I've recently become obsessed with Vince Staples (I could literally do a whole blog post on him, like I'm that obsessed, I've watched like 10 interviews so this isn't even a phase), so when I found out they did a song together I was like *heart eyes.* And of course, it is everything that I dreamt of and wanted. Earl's raspy voice, combined with Vince's kind've jagged and sharp tone is, literally, goldennnnnn. Vince's last verse at the end of the song feels like its ten minutes long, but I love it so much so I don't even care! If it was like some other boring and generic rapper, like Lil Yacthy or something, I would definitely kill myself, or even worse Lil Uzi Vert, who should really just be called Lil Cockroach cuz that's what he looks like.

5. Location by Khalid, this song is definitely the jam right now. I play it on repeat, honestly, I'm starting to get tired of it cuz I play it so much, but its still a really good song. Khalid's sound is really different (as you can tell I'm attracted to artists with interesting sounds) and the lyrics are also really beautiful, that's another thing I've been into lately, songs with messages and themes and good lyrics. Listen to this song while you're writing or doing homework, or some other time when you're working, and it's the most calming and relaxing and beautiful thing ever.

p.s. Follow my soundcloud and tumblr, I post a lot of songs that I'm into on there, on a regular basis.
